The proposed eco-park is an 8-acre hilly pasture, surrounded by 500 acres of cloud forest approximately 1,400 m. above sea-level, located about one kilometer away from the State Highway that connects the twin hill resorts of Panchgani* & Mahabaleshwar**. Admiistratively, it falls under Guhegar Village, Mahableshwar Taluka, Satara District, of Maharashtra State.

Geographically, it is a unique part of the Sayhadri Mountains of Western India – deemed by the UN as one of the 18 hotspots of bio-diversity on the planet. The Maharashtra Government has gazetted this as an eco-sensitive bio-reserve.

* Panchgani (Panch = five & gani = plateau / tableland) is a school town (with over 40 Institutions) established by the British as a summer resort. Century-old St.Peter's is the oldest boys' school.

** Mahabaleshwar is derived from three Sanskrit words, Maha (great), Bal (power) and Ishwar (God). Thus put together, the name means "The God of great power" - an appropriate term for the most majestic holiday resort town of the western ghats (mountains). It is the source of 5 rivers. Its temples are an archeological heritage that dates back to over a thousand years.

The eco-park is a two-hour drive from the nearest airport - Pune,
and a five-hour drive from the nearest International airport - Mumbai
